The National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (NSAC) is an alliance of grassroots organizations that advocates for federal policy reform to advance the sustainability of agriculture, food systems, natural resources, and rural communities. NSAC member groups advance common positions to support small and mid-size family farms, protect natural resources, promote healthy rural communities, and ensure access to healthy, nutritious foods by everyone. By bringing grassroots perspectives to the table normally dominated by big business, NSAC levels the playing field and gives voice to sustainable and organic farmers.
Agriculture and food systems in the U.S. We are working at the intersection of climate, health, and equity to advocate for solutions spanning direct on-farm conservation practices, risk management, land access and tenure, supply and value chain infrastructure, and much more.
The urgency of the climate crisis requires making U.S. agriculture resilient to climate impacts while moving the agricultural sector towards climate-neutrality. It is already clear that the most powerful tools for both mitigating climate change and fostering long-term pandemic recovery are those that have resilience, equity, and health and environmental benefits as core principles.
