California Environmental Justice Alliance

The California Environmental Justice Alliance (CEJA) is a statewide, community-led alliance that works to achieve environmental justice by advancing policy solutions.

We unite the powerful local organizing of our members in the communities most impacted by environmental hazards – low-income communities and communities of color – to create comprehensive opportunities for change at a statewide level.

Our climate, health, and equity work is most focused on:

Building power in environmental justice communities to create equitable statewide policies that hasten a Just Transition to clean, renewable energy with greater civic engagement and good jobs for local residents.

This is important because:

The leadership of environmental justice communities is necessary for an equitable and timely Just Transition for all. Our collective efforts now can prevent California from being locked into additional decades of dirty fossil fuel dependence and deadly greenhouse gas emissions.
