New York Community Trust

Our climate, health, and equity work is most focused on:

Strengthening the climate resilience of frontline communities; reducing fossil fuel-related air pollution impacts; and promoting a just transition away from a fossil fuel-based economy.

This is important because:

The growing climate crisis represents a grave threat to individual, household, and community health in countless ways, from blackouts that put life-saving equipment and medicines at risk to heatwaves and cold snaps that cost more people their lives every year. As a place-based funder with a national and international environment program, The Trust recognizes the urgency of the challenge we face and supports efforts to address it at all levels of governance.
